2024 Blue Archive Korean voice production in progress
Hello, this is Studio Monkey.
This time, Studio Monkey is participating in Blue Archive's 2024 Korean voice project, and we would like to tell you about the short but impressive work process.
1. The importance of character analysis
There are many characters with strong personalities in Blue Archive. Because each character has a different personality, way of speaking, and emotion, it was important to accurately identify these characteristics and reflect them in the recording. In fact, because the existing Japanese voice was so popular, even when switching to Korean voice, there was a challenge of preserving the character's original charm.
Concerns about casting voice actors
Blue Archive put a lot of effort into casting Korean voice actors, as the existing voices have already received a lot of attention and favorable reviews.
In order to bring out the unique personality and atmosphere of each character, we carefully examined them from the voice actor audition stage.
Luckily, the voice actors had a lot of interest and affection for the Blue Archive IP, so the atmosphere of collaboration was very good.
1. Parallel operation of the main recording studio and sub recording studio
Studio Monkey has a main recording studio and a sub recording studio. Since this project required multiple character voices, we increased efficiency by running two recording studios in parallel.
2. Selection of microphone and preamplifier
Recording equipment is a key factor in determining the quality of your results. Considering the voice actor's tone and character personality, we used different microphones and preamplifiers. For example, a character with a calm, low tone preferred a warm, soft sound, while a lively, energetic character preferred a sound with clear high frequencies.
3. Directing and expressing emotions
An essential process in voice actor recording is directing. You must accurately point out the emotions and nuances required for each line in order for the character to come alive in the game.
Script analysis: We identified the situation and emotions of each character and organized the direction.
Main recording after rehearsal: We conducted a brief rehearsal in advance to check tone and breathing, and then started the main recording.
Feedback and re-recordings: Multiple re-recordings were performed where necessary to ensure best results.

Project completion & achievements
Thanks to our long-term efforts, we have successfully completed the 2024 Blue Archive Korean voice production project.
Thanks to the passionate participation of many voice actors and the meticulous direction and technical support of the staff, we were able to achieve a high level of perfection.
